IoT Application

Connected hardware, connected outcomes.

Firmware, gateways, message pipelines, and real time dashboards. We build IoT systems end to end, from the sensor on the shop floor to the chart on the operator's screen, with the reliability that production demands.

What we build

Six IoT systems we have delivered to production.

IoT projects fail more often than they succeed because teams underestimate the field. We design for the messy real world from sprint one.

Industrial IoT

Shop floor sensors, OEE dashboards, predictive maintenance, and SCADA integrations for factories and process plants.

Fleet & Logistics

GPS telematics, driver behaviour, cold chain, and live ETA dashboards. Hardware agnostic, plays well with most trackers.

Smart Buildings

HVAC, lighting, occupancy, and energy meters connected to a single control plane. BACnet, Modbus, and Zigbee bridged into one cloud.

Energy Monitoring

Power meters, solar inverters, and grid telemetry. Real time monitoring with alerts when load spikes or generation dips.

Asset Tracking

BLE beacons, RFID, and LoRa tracking for tools, containers, and high value inventory across warehouses and yards.

Consumer IoT

Connected appliances, wearables, and home devices with companion mobile apps and OTA firmware updates.

Tech we use

From the chip to the chart, one team.

We work across firmware, transport, cloud, and dashboards, so the system stays coherent end to end.

Our process

From sensor to dashboard in five steps.

01

Site Visit

We come to the floor, the warehouse, or the field to see the environment before specifying anything.

02

Prototype

A working prototype with one device, one gateway, and one chart. Always before we promise a fleet.

03

Build

Firmware, ingestion pipeline, storage, and dashboards in parallel. Hardware in the loop every sprint.

04

Field Trial

A small pilot on real sites, watching for power, network, and dust before scaling to the full fleet.

05

Rollout

Full fleet deployment with provisioning, OTA updates, monitoring, and a runbook for your operators.

Why ThinkerSteps

IoT that survives the real world.

Power cuts, patchy networks, dust, heat, water, and operators who do not have time for a manual. We design for that, then test it, then ship it.

Offline tolerant
Devices buffer data when the network drops, then catch up.
Secure OTA updates
Signed firmware, staged rollouts, easy rollback if a release misbehaves.
Time series ready
Built on TimescaleDB or InfluxDB, queryable at any scale.
Device security
TLS everywhere, hardware identity, and minimal attack surface.
IoT FAQ

Quick answers to common questions.

Do you design hardware from scratch?
For most projects we use off the shelf modules like ESP32, STM32, and standard sensor boards. They are reliable, cheap, and well documented. For unique form factors or volumes above ten thousand units, we partner with hardware design firms.
Which connectivity should I pick?
Wi Fi for indoors, BLE for short range, 4G or NB IoT for outdoor and mobile, LoRaWAN when range matters and data is small. We help pick based on coverage, power, cost per device, and what your operators can actually maintain.
How do over the air updates work?
We sign each firmware build, push it through a staged rollout, verify with a small canary group, then release to the fleet. If something goes wrong, automatic rollback restores the last good version.
Where does the data live?
Time series data lives in TimescaleDB or InfluxDB. Metadata and user data live in Postgres. Both can be hosted on AWS, Azure, or your own infrastructure based on data residency requirements.
How do you handle device security?
Mutual TLS between devices and cloud, hardware backed identity where the chip allows, signed firmware, role based access in the dashboard, and audit logs for everything. Security is built in, not bolted on at the end.
Can the dashboard run on mobile or desktop?
Yes. We typically ship a responsive web dashboard for operators, with optional native mobile and desktop companions. All three read from the same API.
